Glove Trainer Available upon request for $50

Does your Goalie have a new glove? Is it hard for their hands to close or open it? The goalie glove is an essential part of the hockey goalie’s kit, as we recently saw in the 2026 Olympics. Way to go USA!!! But the glove is also one of the hardest pieces of equipment for the goalie to get worked into game shape.
My son has been playing hockey for 9 seasons now. He started when he was four and is now finishing up his second 12u season. Yesterday afternoon they competed in their House League Championship and lost in overtime 1-2. As a goalie dad I will say that I might need to make an appointment with a cardiologist. (You can see all of his team’s games on YouTube or check out albert-in-goal.com). Now that he is nearing the teen years, I am looking to be making another purchase of equipment.
The goalie glove is not a cheap purchase. Our family personally likes to visit goaliemonkey.com to see what we can find. Here is an example of my son’s favorite glove.

That is right $349.99!!!
This is an important purchase and one that you want to take care of as your reputation in goal often depends on it.
My son has watched several YouTube videos on this subject. Mainly focusing on what to use to help get them in proper game condition. There is a wealth of knowledge on this subject. From his vast research, he asked if I could cut up one of his old sticks and buy a softball to put in the glove. I, being a proper goalie dad said absolutely I would love to do this at 11pm at night. But i stopped him there and said, “We have 3D Printers, let’s design something.”
A few hours later I made our first glove trainer.

I looked at this and though we could do better. So I made the handle detachable so that it could also be used to stretch it open as well as to assist in the proper creasing, and I thought that is a really nice ball at the end that could hold something that could deodorize a hockey equipment bag. (If you know you know, if you don’t you don’t want to know)

W3-Designs presents the Glove Trainer! The softball sized ball helps shape the netting, and screws apart so that you can place your preferred deodorizer inside, I used activated charcoal. A washer to keep the charcoal in place. A detachable handle that is used to create a nice fold on the palm and when detached fits nicely to stretch out the T.
This original design is available to anyone with a cost of $50. These will be printed on demand only.
If you would like to file I would sell that as well for $20. (You will need to email me to request this, file will be sent after payment).
This order will include only the trainer itself (handle, washer, and ball).
You will notice in the picture I have a belt to wrap around the glove when the trainer is inside. We have used a rubber band, or a practice jersey to wrap around the glove and those work just fine. (the rubber band is probably better, but I like 3d printing.) The belt I used to wrap around the glove is a design by Guillaume Gendron and can be found on the printables website, by searching TPU belt with a compact box-style buckle. I did modify the buckle a bit by adding my son’s hockey team’s logo, and since the belt was too long for the glove I added a piece from another file designed by Dugacki on printables also, to hold the excess of the belt. I probably could have spent time modifying the belt to specifically meet the needs, but to be honest, if something is already designed why reinvent the wheel, or belt.
Since the belt is not part of the glove trainer design it is not included in the purchase price. Although I have to say it is a nice belt printed in TPU plastic which is durable and flexible. (I have used it as a personal belt myself). As always if you would like to rent time on my printer for something you find I charge $2.50/print hour plus materials. (Approximately $20, which makes the $3.50 rubber band seem pretty nice unless you also need a belt).
My son will be playing in a hockey tournament in Chicago soon, and I have been informed that we will be making a new glove purchase while we are there, so I will get to see how well this glove trainer works on a new glove.
